Hopped off to the city again yesterday. we travelled all the way to the city by train and walked the rest of the way to....
the Queen Victoria Market.
Actually its just a market. There's no 'no royalty aren't allowed' or stuff like that. haha. its just like any other market back home, only thing is the prices are all a little bit diff. and the things sold are whoo man. fun.
we walked around, me and jen and the guys for a while, checking out fun stuff. the sweets place was really interesting. they sell chocolate truffles and caramels and white and dark chocolate and OH GOSH so many more. turkish delights, pastries, jam tarts, doughnuts. all the call signs are new to me wheee! and the vendors they attract ppl in the custom Aussie way instead of the noisy and random fish market types u get back at home.
Ex: O'er here, mate! You won't get fresh meat like this any where else, nope not at all just step right here for yer fresh meat!
and ppl just ask u how you're doing all the time hahaha. and you'll have to say something like:
ah i'm fine, thank ye. hmm coulja gimme some of those loin chops wouldka? praps bout 1 kilo? thank ye mate, have a nice day.
xD i'm so enjoying the culture here.
and gosh at the poultry and fish section. hahahaha. first time i've enjoyed being in a market. the fish and meat types they have there is... gosh i forgot them all they're just so many. Flakes. deep sea bass. cod. salmon (naturally) clams oysters calamris crayfish surloin chops schnitzels t bones breast fillets patties meatballs. the terminology is so fun to learn. haha. had a good time there. we bought so much for friday's bbq. boy was it good.
we cooked all the beef and marinated chicken, onion, truffles, oysters, sausages and other plentiful stuff out in the open on a cold dark winter's night. couldn't be more fun. :D they even had a custom bbq uh whaddya call it custom bbq grill? bbq pit? guess its a pit. haha. a night to remember.
