So, last Saturday i went with Xander and the newly-wedded Mr. and Mrs. Tan ^^ to Aya Japanese restaurant somewhere in Armadale (The High St. is misleadingly long).

Worse part is, although it had traditional tatami mats and waddya call those Japanese board-sliding thingys, i didn't realise that there actually was a depression in the floor where you could put your feet until my feet were so cramped from sitting crossed leg at a low table.

That aside, the sashimi and soft-shelled crab were awesome! not to mention these freaking-fresh oysters below here:

can you believe it, these fellas are actually propped up on pillar of salt.

the main sashimi platter. looks impressive but as usual there were more decos than eatables LOL.

In these lamentations...

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Baby I have been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you.
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

There was a time you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you
The holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though
It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah

And then another joker came along....

NEW HOUSEMATE. Since i've had so many different housemates moving in and out already, i'm automatically wary of new people. Always wishing for a clean housemate who does his/her part for the house. So. INTERESTING Vietnamese kid. probably about 18 or 19. let's see some of the things that make him so 'fascinating'.

This Vietnamese guy named Thai/Tai:
-always uses the biggest pots and pans and NEVER cleans up after himself.
-loves to listen to music and singing loudly and out-of-tune-ly whenever he cooks.
-speaks poor English, but he's learning, he's learning he says.
-left the rice cooker on Warm mode half the whole night. (luckily i went down for a snack)
-'accidentally' switched his laptop's dvd region the whole 6 times and he's stuck with a permanent one now. "I dihdn't hnow that it would be permanent if hyou changed it..." "Did you see the message that your DVD region would be permanently set if you change it all the 6 times?" "Hoh, but i dihdn't hnow.... i dihdn't hnow..." "......"
-has a very nice MacBookPro which is now stuck with a permanent DVD region....
-has to have a full clothes rack when he hangs his clothes.
-loves cheap grilled chicken, eats it nearly every night....
-has never heard/known about spices....
-leaves the toilet light on in the daytime when he goes out to the uni....
-washes his shoes in the WASHING MACHINE.
-watches The Simpsons, possibly to improve his Heenglish.
-is a die hard fan of Naruto, and loves Hakhatshuhi....

don't want to diss him any more... he's already pretty unpopular with my other housemate Yash, even though he has only been here for less than 2 weeks? ahaha.

P.S. Tommy Zai is coming over to visit soon!!!

Life & Death

Funny how much u can take life for granted then when somebody you know/knew passes on we jump into the *life is precious* mode. =\

An old primary schoolmate of mine, from Lick Hung in good ol Subang, Malaysia, has just passed on recently. He got hit by a lightning strike while near a basketball court. Life is short and precious and freak accidents like these are seriously unfair... one second everything's normal as it should be, the next moment an innocent life has just been extinguished.

its a good reminder to us to remember through the bad times and the good times that no matter what we go through or when we do, life is ultimately the most precious thing you have. Don't waste it. RIP Tan Han Yin.

It's just a business trip... then what's with all these shopping bags??

Headed out to the city again like the bored guy i am. Managed to pick up some stuff my family sent me via colleagues at work who were travelling to Melbourne. Can't believe i found the hotel in record time, with some pre-help from Google Maps.

Still looking for a job, still very bored and lifeless, still eating very scantily, maybe i should've went home? haha. once i have a job time will go by much faster and 'productively'.

Oh yea a coupla friends of mine just got married whoo hoo! Congrats to you 2 Mr. & Mrs. Tan. Will post some pics later on when there's the special dinner at some traditional Japanese restaurant for us friends.
